Certificates, Permits and Documentation

Hoodia Certificates, Permits and Documentation. All the measures necessary are used to keep a watchful eye on all aspects of dealing with Hoodia gordonii because it is a protected species.

1. Hoodia gordonii Growers License
- For the cultivation of Hoodia gordonii, a license should be obtained from your local Nature Conservation. Rules and regulations may differ from protected species to species. Guidelines for the cultivation of Hoodia can be requested.

2. Hoodia gordonii Sellers License
- In order to trade with Hoodia gordonii, a Sellers license should be applied for. Any legitimate organization trading with Hoodia gordonii should either have a copy of their own Hoodia Sellers License or a copy of the organization/individual whom he bought it from. This will also be an indication that that organization/individual are legally trading with Hoodia gordonii and that the product they are selling is pure.

3. C.I.T.E.S. certificate
- More information can be found on the CITES and Hoodia gordonii page. In short, any organization wanting to do international trade with Hoodia gordonii should apply for a CITES certificate before it can be shipped/transported.

4. C.O.A. - Certificate of Analysis
- A C.O.A is normally the documentation issued by the laboratory which analyzed or tested a sample of the Hoodia gordonii batch - normally for selling purposes. This document contains the description of the sample, the metal and micro-biology results. The efficacy and potency of the sample information should also be reflected on the COA depending on the person who requested the analyses.

5. M.S.D.S. - Material Safety Data Sheet
- This document will reflect all the needed information when the material will be shipped or stored. Information on this sheet includes the product identification, toxicological information, physical data, fire and explosion hazards, preventive measures etc.
